ANKENY HIGH SCHOOL CAMPS | Athletic Development Camps

 

This Athletic Development Camp is led by the Ankeny Coaching Staff.
Open to ANY and ALL Students Enrolled in Ankeny High School.

FEED THE HAWKS (TALONS OF THE FUTURE)

High speed performance must be practiced.  If you want to hit 5th gear in competition you have to sprint TWO TIMES per week.  We will focus on 1 speed day each week where the athletes will be timed.  We will be timing 10 yard start, 10 yard fly after a 15 yard build up and 40 yard dash.  The other day of the week with be an X FACTOR day.  We will focus on running mechanics, explosive movements and introduce the athletes to the weight room.
 
Each day the athletes will be focused on speed and explosion.  The workouts will not interfere with any other activities that the athletes could be doing throughout the winter.

HAWK STRENGTH TRAINING | 9TH - 12TH GRADES

Participants will be involved in a comprehensive strength training and conditioning program that emphasizes strength, power, speed, and agility. Coaches from the identified sports will be supervising and instructing the four sessions as listed. All participants are welcome to attend any of the sessions however some sessions will have more participants enrolled than others due to the size of the programs. Summer training impacts player development and is expected at Ankeny High School!

HAWK INCOMING 8TH GRADE STRENGTH TRAINING AND SPEED PROGRAM

Incoming 8th grade students will be introduced to all phases of a complete and comprehensive athletic development program including: strength and power development, linear acceleration, lateral speed / agility progressions and injury reduction strategies. These developmental sessions will emphasize a SAFE and progressive structure that allows students to train effectively and prepares all athletes for the AHS program. No Athletes will be turned away due to the fee. This camp is limited to 32 athletes per session.
